Rana leads the Rawlings Atlantic advisory practice, working with investors and senior leadership teams to identify and solve commercial and organizational challenges. Rana’s practice areas include commercial, organisation and brand strategy, investor support, business development and executive coaching.
His recent work includes joining the board of one of London’s fastest growing media services companies to drive organisational change and business growth. At Rawlings, Rana has led a diverse range of client engagements from providing transactional support for an international technology buy-out to advising the CEO of a FTSE 100 company on organisational growth requirements.
Prior to Rawlings, Rana was a Lead Strategist at Wheel, one of Europe’s leading interactive media companies, helping leading media, entertainment and consumer products companies and innovative start-ups navigate the digital economy. Rana was also a consultant at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants providing board-level advice to global consumer goods, retail and financial services clients. At Roland Berger, he spent a year based in New Delhi, helping develop the firms presence in India and researching a book length study on Indian Management Culture. Rana began his career in Canada where he served as a Special Assistant and political advisor to various members of Canadian federal and provincial parliament.
Currently, Rana is an advisory board member of Prophet Brand Strategy, a management consultancy specialising in branding and an Associate of Vision, a Rome based think-tank and public affairs advisory firm. He is a board director and advisor to Rawlings Venture investments in the entertainment and property development industries and is a Patron of the Guardian Hay Literary Festival. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA (Hons) in Political Studies from Queen's University at Kingston (Canada).
A frequent writer, media commentator and participant in think-tank events on globalisation, country branding, culture and creative business, he is currently authoring a book entitled Sex, Soccer & Diplomacy: How Nations are Competing for the Global Imagination and has been regular guest lecturer at the London School of Economics and the CASS Business School.
